Mushy's Story

Mushy Gallery

Mushy is a lovable suggie that has touched our hearts in a special way. Her story is incredible and unique. When Mushy was still in her mother's pouch, her mother's nail got caught on the cage. This caused the mother such distress that Mushy came out of the pouch before she was ready. Mushy's undeveloped state caused her parents to attack her, biting her face and ears repeatedly. Mushy was ultimately rejected by her parents and was left to die. Our breeder, Jose, was touched deeply by Mushy's plight and took extra care to nurse her back to health using puppy milk. When Mushy was healthy enough, she was put in a cage with two suggies named Tilly and Rudy. To our delight, Tilly and Rudy adopted Mushy as if she were their own joey. Now, whenever new joey's are born, Mushy cares for them as if she were the surrogate mother, carrying them on her back and cuddling with them. Although Mushy is sterile and will never have joey's of her own, she is the most remarkable sugar glider mother we've seen.
